Bucegi Massif is one stunning mountain range filled with a variety of hiking trails and stunning scenery. Bucegi Mountains are part of the mighty Carpathian Mountain Range which dominates the central part of Romania`s territory.
Leaving Bucharest early in the morning, we drive for less than 3 hours to reach the starting point of our hiking adventure in Bucegi National Park.
The first part of this hiking trail starts from 1550m, pass through Ialomita River Valley, a spectacular and reach Omu Peak at 2505m after 3 hours.
Obârşiei or Ialomita River Valley is a valley of glacial origin, consisting of two boilers, one lower and one superior, separated from each other by a threshold, a place where the waterfall was formed.
Once we reach Omu Peak you will be rewarded with some stunning mountain scenery.
Close to Omu Peak we will find Omu Hut, from where we can buy some food sweets and water.
After this well-deserved break we will descend on another trail to Bucegi Plateau. Our next important stop of the day is at Sphinx of Bucegi and The Gossip Ladies.
There are so many legends and myths about the origins of this mysterious cliffs, that were probably shaped by the wind, rain and snow. On this hiking trip we’ll spend anywhere from six to 8 hours hiking coming back to Bucharest in evening.
