Leaving Bucharest in the morning, we go straight to Vidraru Dam located at 305m altitude and 3 hours driving. Once we reach the starting point, we will take our backpacks and for the following 6 hours we will enjoy this beautiful natural wonder of Romania.

Together with your private mountain tour guide, you will walk along this narrow valley, climbing the waterfalls and crossing the rivers, enjoying the wild nature of Fagaras Mountains.

Spend an amazing hiking day in Fagaras Massif, part of the beautiful Carpathian Mountains.  This hiking tour takes you on via-ferrata stairs and bridges, forest trails, to beautiful meadows and clearings.

Stan Valley Canyon is the only via ferrata of Fagaras Massif, the highest mountains in Romania. Stan Valley Canyon, along the 7 Ladders Canyon in  Piatra Mare Mountains, are in fact two of the most famous canyons open for tourists.

When Vidraru Dam was built in 1965, the creek of Stan`s Valley was captured and diverted in order to supply the reservoir. Shortly after, many foot bridges and metal stairs were installed in order to facilitate the access to the dams on the valley. In 2012, the mountain rescuers began to restore the stairs, bridges, the railings, and cables. This is the reason that  Stan Valley Canyon is one of the best equipped via ferrata that can be passed without special climbing equipment.

The hiking tour will end in the afternoon in the same point we dropped the car. In case you want to serve lunch somewhere, there are a few places where we can taste the traditional Romanian dishes. After this amazing mountain adventure we take the car back to Bucharest.

• For this tour  you need hiking shoes or outdoor sandals (no running shoes);
• Rain jacket is necessary;
• Number of participants: minimum 2, maximum 7;
• Transportation is made by car (Bucharest- Vidraru Dam -Bucharest);
• Mountain tour requires a very good physical shape, with resistance to hard effort;
• Licensed mountain guide during the entire hike.
