There is a long list of tourist attractions of Plovdiv and here we will mention just couple of them: Roman Stadium, Dzhumaya Mosque, Church of Sveta Bogoroditsa and some of the most important National Revival style houses built for wealthy merchants in Plovdiv`s Old Town. Do not miss the impressive Roman marble amphitheater, set on the hillside overlooking the city and the mountains, which was discovered during a construction work in 1927. This day trip offers a mix of history, culture, and natural beauty, showcasing the best of Serbia’s medieval heritage and modern charm. Leaving Belgrade in the morning, you set out on an adventure toward the fertile lands of Vojvodina. Your journey begins with a short drive northward, leaving the bustling city behind and heading toward the historic town of Sremski Karlovci.

Arriving in Sremski Karlovci, a jewel of Serbian culture and history, you step into a scene straight out of a fairy tale. The narrow cobblestone streets are lined with baroque architecture, their pastel facades whispering stories of centuries past. Your first stop is the iconic Four Lions Fountain, a symbol of the town’s resilience, before wandering into the beautiful Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas, whose frescoed walls tell tales of faith and perseverance.

Driving a little further, you reach Novi Sad, often called the cultural capital of Vojvodina. The city’s skyline is dominated by the impressive Petrovaradin Fortress, perched proudly on the Danube’s bank. Here, you walk along the fortress walls, imagining the lively battles and celebrations of old, all while enjoying panoramic views of the river and city beneath. We will visit the Cathedral of Saint George, soaking in the artistic and spiritual heritage that makes Novi Sad such a cultural hub. The returning drive to Belgrade offers a peaceful contrast to the lively morning, allowing you to reflect on the treasures of Vojvodina—its history, art, and warm hospitality. Overnight in Belgrade

    Day 13 Belgrade tour

Our tour begins in the Old Town (Stari Grad), where cobbled streets whisper tales of centuries past. We stroll down Knez Mihailova Street, the city’s elegant pedestrian boulevard, lined with grand 19th-century buildings, boutiques, and bookshops.

From there, we head toward Kalemegdan Fortress, perched dramatically above the confluence of the Sava and Danube Rivers. This ancient stronghold has stood watch over the city for millennia — Roman, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian empires have all left their mark here.

Within Kalemegdan Park, we discover hidden cannons, mysterious towers, and the iconic Victor Monument, proudly overlooking the city. It feels like time travel — every stone, every pathway holds a secret.

By midday, we make our way to Skadarlija, Belgrade’s bohemian quarter. This charming, cobbled street is alive with art, music, and the aroma of traditional Serbian dishes.

In the afternoon, we cross into the modern part of the city, where the imposing Church of Saint Sava rises like a marble crown above the rooftops. One of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, its white stone façade and massive green dome are breathtaking. Next, we head to Republic Square, where the statue of Prince Mihailo points toward progress. Surrounding us are the National Museum and National Theatre, symbols of Belgrade’s cultural richness. Nearby, we explore the Zeleni Venac market, bursting with colors, fresh produce, and the voices of local vendors.

As golden hour arrives, we venture to the Sava Promenade in the buzzing Belgrade Waterfront district. It’s the perfect place to unwind with a drink and watch the sunset.

Our final stop is the Ada Ciganlija peninsula — Belgrade’s very own river island retreat. As night falls, people gather by the water to enjoy dinner, music, and laughter under the stars. Overnight in Belgrade
