Day trip to Black Sea shores is a private tour that give you the chance to discover Constanta harbor and city as well as Mamaia beach resort. In this relaxing day you can taste some of the famous Romanian wines exploring roman ruins or ancient Greek history.
We leave Bucharest on route to Constanta city harbor. The highway to Constanta passes through the sun flower, corn and wheat fields.
Before arrival to Black Sea and Constanta shores we can stop to Tropaeum Traiani, a roman monument built in 109, to commemorate Roman Emperor Trajan’s victory over the Dacians in 102 in the Battle of Tapae.
Trajan’s monument was inspired by the Augustus mausoleum, and was dedicated to the god Mars in 107/108 AD. The monument was supposed to be a warning to the tribes outside this newly conquered province
Once we reach Constanta we will start the sightseeing tour of this surprising city. We will explore the Old Town of Constanta with Ovidiu`s Square, Great Mosque, Orthodox Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, waterfront with Constanta`s most famous landmark- the Casino and Marina`s yachts.
Optional visit to Archeology Museum which has a particular rich collection of statues and relief of Greek and Roman deities, but also one of the longest roman mosaic ever found.
Our next stop will be in Mamaia, one of the liveliest Black Sea resort and a favoured destination for package holidays.
The cable car Of Mamaia resort is another tourist attraction of the seaside and its surroundings. You will have the opportunity to really float for about seven minutes, at a 50m height, above Mamaia resort.
Next, you can take a swim into the Black Sea (June to September), or try Romanian food in one of the restaurants.
If you are more cultural oriented we can take you to Histria, the earliest and most important Greek settlement on the western Black Sea coast. The first town to exist anywhere on present-day Romania territory, it was founded by settlers from Miletus in the mid-7th century BC. The remains include various Greek temples and Christian basilicas as well as defensive walls and ruins of a paved residential quarter.
In the end of the day, return to Bucharest.
