Whether it’s a colorful street in Sighisoara, a building with a spectacular architecture or a perfect spot on the mountain, you can find ideas to upgrade your Instagram feed in many places in Romania. 1.Sighisoara
Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world come to Sighisoara every year, a place full of history, beautiful architecture and authentic stories. Whoever comes to Sighisoara once, will want to come back again and again, without ever having the feeling that they have seen everything. It’s a town that you fall in love with at first glance and you keep it in your heart for the rest of your life
Built by the Saxon colonists in the 12th century on the shore of the Tarnava Mare River, Sighisoara is among the few medieval citadels still inhabited to this day, being listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

3.Biertan village
Biertan is a beautiful village situated in a large valley, surrounded by hills and vineyards, in the center of Romania, at 80 km north of Sibiu. Biertan was an important ecclesiastical and commercial center during the medieval period. In 1572, it was the Department of the Lutheran Diocese, maintaining this role for nearly three centuries. Furthermore, the village was one of the richest in the area and it was famous for its wines produced here by the locals.

Practically, the two had to share everything. What is interesting, however, is that in 300 years, only one couple wanted to divorce after the time spent in that room.
4.Corvin Castle
The Corvin or Hunyadi Castle in Hunedoara County is one of the most valuable medieval monuments in Romania. The castle is endowed with a special Gothic architecture, specific to the medieval period, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Although the construction has retained its considerable charm and original architecture, the best-preserved portions are the Mace Tower, the Old Gate Tower, and the Capistrano Tower, named after a famous monk from that time.
Around the castle of Hunedoara, there are fascinating legends, one of them referring to the Corvinus’ Flag, which carries a raven with a golden ring in its beak. Thus, the family’s name comes from Latin, and “Corvus” means “raven” and represents longevity and wisdom.

5.Rimetea village
Rimetea is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in Romania, but it’s not famous only for its beautiful landscapes. In addition to the traditional food, featuring a delicious cinnamon cake, and the soothing atmosphere of the place, Rimetea is also known for its folklore and history. The tradition of iron processing, the tradition of furniture painting and the folk costume tradition can all be seen and studied best at the Ethnographic Museum in the center of the village, opened in 1952.
But what made Rimetea known shortly after its first documentary attestation of 1259 is the discovery of an ore deposit at the beginning of the 14th century. Over the years, the craftsmanship took shape so that, in 1493, the village received the rank of fair, and two centuries later, that of a mining town (in 1666). There were even documents that show that in the fifteenth century there was a complete blacksmith for agricultural tools belonging to a local noble family.

More than half of the approximately 300 houses in the village preserved the same architectural elements and are all white, with window frames painted in green. 6.Moieciu
Moieciu is a commune located in Brasov County, just between the Bucegi Mountains and the Piatra Craiului Mountains, at an altitude of 800-1,200 m. The commune is composed of several villages, including Magura and Pestera village.

The village is located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters and is surrounded by the snowy massifs of Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains. Thus, nature lovers can encounter in these places a multitude of plant and animal species, some of them being rare.
The best place to take pictures: the surroundings. Being a mountain village located at high altitude, you can just grab your camera and go for a walk. You will see only hills and mountains around you, allowing to enjoy spending time in nature.
8.Pestera village
Pestera Village is located in Piatra Craiului Reserve, at an altitude of 1,000 m. The Bats Cave, within the Pestera village, is the place that attracts thousands of tourists each year. The cave is located in the northwest of Bran’s platform, at an altitude of nearly 950 m and it was formed following the erosion of the mountain along the valley. The name of this cave is due to the colonies of bats living in the depth of the cavern, some of them belonging to rare species. However, you shouldn’t take pictures here to not disturb the bats.

The Cross of the Heroes of the Nation, also known as the Caraiman Cross, was built in 1926-1928 to honor the memory of the heroes killed on duty in the First World War. At that time, it was the largest construction of its kind in the world. The cross is 28 m high and is made of steel profiles and mounted on a reinforced concrete base.

Besides holding this record, the Fagaras Mountains also shelter many glacial lakes and landscapes that amaze anyone who ventures to explore them with their beauty.

Without a doubt, this spectacular road, considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, is the best location to take great pictures. The highest altitude that the road reaches is 2, 042 meters (in the area of the Balea tunnel), tight after the Transalpina road which has a maximum altitude of 2,145 meters. When the road is closed, during the winter season, you have the Balea Lake as a second option, especially when the Balea Ice Hotel is open.
